Parra FamilyThe Parra Family

Jose Luis and Susan Parra have served with Youth With A Mission in Creel, Chihuahua, Mexico since August 1998. They, along with their daughter, Jaynie, serve God among the Tarahumara people of the Copper Canyon area in northern Mexico. Their ministry is three-fold: discipleship of Tarahumara Christians; evangelism in Tarahumara communities; and participating in Bible translation into the High Tarahumara dialect. Their vision is to see the Kingdom of God established in the hearts, families, and communities of the Tarahumara people and to see God glorified by all who live in the Copper Canyon area.

Parra Family Update

May 5, 2008

Dear First Church,

WOW! You all are the most caring, most loving church family and we are humbled by your generous gifts and support. The Lord used each of you to bless us as only He can do. Thank you for your commitment to see the Tarahumara people of Mexico come to a saving knowledge of the truth and love of Jesus Christ. Thank you for blessing us by bringing those things that we miss from the USA (lemonade, peanut butter, and pecans). Thank you also for giving us items to help us be more effective in our ministry (lap-top computer, school supplies, fabric, and thread). Thank you also for the many books for Jaynie to read. She began reading them on our way back to Creel. We truly felt the love you have for our Lord expressed tangibly in your care of us. Our time with you in April was so special. Thank you for letting God use you in such a powerful way in our lives. We pray that the Lord will bless each of you according to His perfect will each day.

In Christ’s Love,
Jose Luis, Susan & Jaynie Parra
