A Reply to Love
In the midst of our busy schedules we need times of prayerful quiet. First Church is offering our women just such an experience on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 10:00 in Harris Hall. We will conclude with lunch for a donation of $5 and reservations can be made online or in the plaza on Sunday morning.
Prayer, music, and a labyrinth walk will lead you into the deep peace only available through genuine encounters with the Divine. This time can be used for focusing on where you are in your spiritual journey, a quiet time of personal reflection, or a way of getting back on the spiritual path that continues to call each of us.
Labyrinths were a popular form of prayer in medieval times. Many of the world’s great cathedrals had the pattern of a Labyrinth inlaid in their floors. The walk toward the center of the Labyrinth symbolizes our longing to find God at the center of our being. Whether this form of meditation and prayer is new to you, or if you have experienced the Labyrinth before, this time of Lenten reflection will certainly help you focus on your reply to the love that Jesus demonstrated with his life, death and resurrection.
Facilitated by Rev. Randa Norman and Rev. Karen Slater, this time of prayer and reflection is a great opportunity to expand your Lenten experience. Come and join us! Childcare provided.
