Whiz Kids

City Care's Whiz Kids is a faith-based tutoring and mentoring program.  Oklahoma City area churches are matched up with elementary schools to provide an evening of food, fun, and, of course, learning.  Students from 1st through 5th grade come from Gatewood Elementary every Tuesday evening during the school year to enjoy a hot, kid-friendly meal, work with an assigned tutor/mentor, and learn about Jesus during Club Time.  Long-lasting relationships are built through this program, and lives are impacted not just for the present time but throughout the students' futures.  For more information on the program, click here.

Whiz Kids Update

Our Whiz Kids program runs during the school year, usually the end of August through the middle of May.  In addition to the tutoring sessions, we have special events such as Thanksgiving Dinner and Spring Fling.  We also have game nights--always a favorite with the students!

Please prayerfully consider helping out on Tuesday evenings.  We need tutors, substitute tutors, and kitchen helpers. Our Gatewood students are worth the investment!
